American performer Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19, 1959. Her work on the screen as well as the stage have garnered praise throughout her long career. Janney was honored with many accolades including the Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. Seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also handed out to her. In addition, she was nominated for two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised in Dayton (Ohio). After her graduation from Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's debut on TV came in 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 to 2006). She received Four Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. For her role in her role in the Showtime drama Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
